Hi there - I had the same problem and started with malwarebytes - a 30 day free trial. It detected other malware but did not solve the mac ads cleaner problem. I then tried 'App Cleaner and Uninstaller' and it looks like I was able to remove the app entirely. It could detect the mac ads cleaner application and its related files, and I could then remove them, all in the free version. I did have to delete the mac ads icon from the dock manually (which I was able to do for the first time). So far there are no more problems.
